Expectations
Sixth Form is a really important part of any young person's career and at Bobby Moore Academy we have very high expectations of everyone:

- Full attendance and punctuality
- Service to your academy community
- Limit part-time working hours in order to support your academic study
- Be an ambassador for your academy community and lead by example
- Develop and sustain disciplined learning habits
- Adhere to the academy’s values: ambition, aspiration, courage and respect
- Develop a competitive advantage during your two-year learning journey
Dress Code
Bobby Moore Academy Sixth Form Dress Code
Sixth Form dress is an important part of our academy’s identity. It reinforces who we are as a community and helps allow scholars to feel pride in their academic studies. It also helps prepare scholars for life after school where many will have to dress smartly for work and for potential university and apprenticeship interviews. We therefore expect students to wear business-formal attire when attending Sixth Form.
Dress Code:
- Formal jackets/blazers must be worn at all times in the academy, except in the designated Sixth Form areas
- Smart, dark coloured shoes
- Smart/business skirts and dresses
- Suit trousers
- Skirts and dresses should be knee length
- Shirts and blouses
- Smart V-neck jumpers are permitted to be worn underneath a formal jacket/blazer
- Ties must be worn with shirts
- Single studded nose piercings are permitted
- Studded earrings are permitted (one per ear)
In extremely warm weather, the Executive Principal may allow scholars to remove their blazers.
Photo ID lanyards must be always worn and visible in the academy
Sports Lessons:
- Scholars are expected to wear black tracksuit bottoms or sports leggings, with no large logos visible
- Scholars are expected to wear the ‘BMA’ sports top
- During winter months, scholars are permitted to wear a sports sweatshirt (this should not have a hood), with no large visible logos
- Trainers should not be overly bright
Religious Dress: Those wishing to wear the Islamic dress should wear a simple silhouette jilbab and a hijab. A formal business jacket will still need to be worn.
Not permitted:
- Trainers and sandals are not permitted
- Shoes that go above the ankle are not permitted
- Sheepskin style boots are not permitted (e.g. UGG)
- Tight skirts/dresses are not permitted (bodycon)
- Leggings are not permitted
- Tracksuits are not permitted (scholars must change for sport practical lessons)
- Jeans are not permitted
- Sweatshirts should not be worn
- Hoodies are not permitted
- Vests/sleeveless or crop tops are not permitted
- Plunging neck lines are not permitted
- Hair should not be brightly dyed
- Tramlines or other similar hair styles
- No other facial piercings, than those stated above, are permitted
- Tattoos must not be visible
If you are unsure about an item of clothing, please seek advice from a member of the Sixth Form team before purchasing. Eligible students can use their 16-19 bursary to purchase clothing for their A Level education.
