Yr7-10 students attend Lendlease and LYR Life Skills Event

On Wednesday 24th May, we took a group of 25 students who had shown excellent leadership in their PE lessons to a Life Skills event in the Olympic Park run by Lendlease and London Youth Rowing. The day started with students taking part in practical sessions on the water – they tried out rowing, dragon boating and paddleboarding and demonstrated some excellent skills in totally new activities led by expert rowing coaches. 

In the afternoon, students attended a life skills workshop run by lendlease which was hosted inside Haugen, which is one of the many amazing buildings they have designed and constructed within the Olympic Park. Students learnt about the different careers within the company and how different life skills helped staff to be successful in their respective roles. To finish the day students applied the life skills they had focussed on of communication, teamwork and problem solving to design and build their own bridge.
