My Story: Maths, My Mission, My Mindset – Yr12 Bobby Seagull Visit
On Thursday 25th May, Bobby Seagull visited Bobby Moore Academy to deliver an inspiring presentation on his life story ‘Maths, My Mission & Mindset’. Bobby Seagull is a teacher, writer and Cambridge University Doctorate student. He appeared on the television program University Challenge in 2017, and in 2018 on Monkman & Seagull’s Genius Guide to Britain. Before moving into education, he was an investment banking trader at Lehman Brothers & Nomura, and qualified as a Chartered Accountant from PwC. He is an ambassador for the charity National Numeracy, a presenter for an Open University course on personal finance for young adults, a regular contributor to Radio Four’s Puzzle For Today and a columnist for the Financial Times. Bobby is also author of ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Numbers’ and co-presenter of the podcast Maths Appeal. Thank you so much to Bobby for coming to speak to our Yr12 students on your life and career within finance and mathematics, our students were truly inspired.
