This page provides parents with a clear outline of our school’s homework expectations and guidance to support students at home.

At Bobby Moore Academy, high-quality teaching is at the heart of everything we do. Alongside outstanding classroom practice, we use a range of innovative home learning platforms to ensure our scholars reach their full potential and continue to build their legacy beyond the classroom.

Our whole-school homework approach is built around Look, Cover, Write, Check. Every scholar has a prep file containing subject-specific knowledge organisers for each term. Scholars read through key information directed by their teacher, cover their notes, recall what they can, and then check their accuracy. This routine helps develop strong independent study habits and deepens long-term memory. Each week, scholars are tested in lessons on their revised work, allowing teachers to track progress and provide targeted support where needed.

To further enhance learning, we use several subject-specific online platforms:

Mathematics

• Mathematics – Sparx: Every scholar has a Sparx Maths login. Sparx creates personalised weekly homework tasks tailored to each student’s current level of understanding, ensuring targeted practice and steady progress.

• Languages – Active Learn Hub: Scholars access a wealth of interactive activities and resources that reinforce vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension skills. The platform enables learners to practise listening and reading tasks independently, strengthening fluency and confidence in their chosen language.

• History – Carousel Learning: Carousel supports scholars in revising key topics through quick-fire quizzes and adaptive recall activities. It helps to strengthen long-term memory and consolidate key historical knowledge in engaging and effective ways.

• Physical Education – EverLearner: This platform provides exam-board-specific tutorials, self-marking quizzes, and exam-style questions. Scholars receive instant feedback, ensuring they are well-prepared for assessments and that any knowledge gaps are swiftly addressed.
