The scholar careers journey - 'My future'
At the Bobby Moore Academy scholars hold the master key to their future. Our careers provision helps to open doors and remove barriers for our scholars. We provide relatable and achievable steps to success so that every scholar is prepared for life after secondary education. We want every scholar to be excited for their future and have the confidence required to achieve their ambitions through tailored support, guidance and experiences provided during their time at the Academy.

Preparation for the future
Careers Advisor
All scholars in years 10 and 12 receive a 1 to 1 careers meeting with a trained careers advisor to discuss their career goals and to receive personalised guidance on what steps to take to achieve them. The reports from these meetings are shared with parents and carers via MCAS.
UNIFROG
All our scholars have access to UNIFROG (https://www.unifrog.org)
Unifrog provides students with all the information they need to make important decisions about future careers and the subjects, courses and training available to help them attain their career destination. For those unsure of what careers to pursue, Unifrog provides suggestions based on an individual’s interests. Scholars can also discover what careers their chosen subjects can lead to.
Microsoft (MS) Teams Careers Channel
To keep students up-to-date with all career opportunities on offer, we have a dedicated careers channel attached to their year group on MS Teams. We share weekly updates about labour market information, work experience opportunities, webinars and all things careers.
Work experience – Year 10 and Year 12
Our year 10 and 12 scholars will complete a week of work experience in the summer term. We are uniquely positioned to offer scholars tailored and bespoke work experience opportunities due to our extensive partnerships with employers. We also encourage all of our scholars to find their own placements and will run application processes for those we already have connections with. We have received outstanding praise from employers for our 2024/25 year 12 scholars and expect the same level of professionalism this year.
Careers fairs
This academic year we are hosting our first careers fairs. A STEM careers fair will take place on Friday 10th October 2025 and another general careers fair will take place during February 2026. This is an opportunity for Scholars to network with industry professionals, ask lots of questions, gain important insights into different careers and to consider a range of career pathways further in the presence of industry experts. The fairs will take place in a carrousel style allowing scholars to move between stalls and gather as much information as possible. The fair will be a whole school event open to year 7-13 as well as our primary scholars.
Sixth Form mentoring
This academic year we will be partnering with Brightside careers mentoring to provide bespoke careers guidance and support to our year 12 scholars from industry and higher education volunteer. Scholars meet with their mentor for 1 hour a week for 12 weeks. Scholars are linked with their mentor based on their needs and interests and will work towards an agreed goal with their mentor.
How can parents and carers help?
We are always looking to generate opportunities for our scholars, so they are better equipped to enter their chosen future pathways. Can you, or do you know someone, who could support to enhance our careers provision? This could be help with work experience, career talks, networking events, mock interviews or any other support that would be of value to students. If so, please contact us either via email at M.Drucker@bobbymooreacademy.co.uk or call the Academy reception on 020 3146 8000
